Dubai Bucket List

I can't believe it - but our time here is actually drawing to a close!  It has been a truly wonderful adventure, and the best experience for our family!  As we creep closer to our last day in Dubai, we are busy checking off things on our Dubai Bucket List - things we always meant to do but never really got around to.  This past weekend we hit a big one!  It was our great friend Deric's birthday, and to celebrate we hopped on a yacht and cruised all around the Arabian Gulf.  We can't believe we didn't do it sooner!  Check out the pics:

Augusto, Emily, Deric & Me!

Happy 39th Deric!  Deric loves to fish, so Francis made him this cake.  The only part he didn't make was the visor, which he brazenly stole from a Littlest Pet Shop zebra.  And he was only 39 for real.  In fact, I was the only person on the whole boat with a "4" in front of my age.  And SOMEone even had the nerve to have been born in the 80s! But we still love you, Francis.

Frany and the Ladies!

We cruised out and saw "The World" - a development by the same people who did the Palm.  You could actually buy individual countries and build on them!  All coutries are sold, but not much is being built.  Here's what it looks like from above - I would show you a picture of what it looks like from the boat, but really, it just looks like some sand and rocks.

And then back to the Dubai Marina for some DIVING!  The water is amazingly warm - measured at 32 degrees  - about 90 degrees Farenheit!  It is like swimming in a large (very salty) bathtub!  Check it out!

We sat on the swim platform, legs in the water, and watched the sun set:

Truly one of the best things we've done since moving here.  One more thing off the Bucket List!  Fun, but sad, since we are really going to miss these crazy characters:

California, here we come!
